Project Overview

Create a logo and style for a charity fund that helps kids. They also help old people and people who can't do some things.

Task
A fund owner asked our studio to make a brand new logo for them and style it..

Briefing

We came up with the main idea for the new image by talking to the customer: adult and child hands. This suits what the fund is about.

Analysis

Before we created the new logo, we checked out other images that were like ours. This helped us be original and know the customer's vision more clearly.

Research

After the previous stage we also looked for a smart idea based on what people associate. Then we made some sketches of the new logo with that idea.
In the first solution, we used the idea of the old logo, but we changed the symbol. We made it a dove, which is like a helping hand, because it is associated with hope for the best. We put both symbols in a heart, which shows love. You need love to help others.
01
As in the previous option, we used a hand as a symbol of assistance, but with a different meaning. We also used the hand-dove. But here, there is a big dove with a small dove-hand and a heart inside. This shows the protection of the small by the elders.
02
In the third option the symbol shows two hands that look like angel wings. They hold a heart that has another heart inside it. This means that someone older is taking care of someone younger, like a parent and a child. This is a common way to show love and care.

Matching

The customer at the presentation chose the first option out of three signs, because in his opinion this solution more than others reflected the spirit of the fund.
1. Simple and clear metaphors for symbols.
2. Simple artistic implementation.
3. The sign is drawn with one line without lifting the hand.
4. Recursion makes the sign original.

Advantages of the Symbol:

Font Choosing

The next step was to choose a font that would visually match the sign. As a result, the most harmonious typeface was the Montsrerat Alternates font family.

Color Selection

The next thing to do was to pick a color for the logo. The fund helps children, so the client liked the idea of using rainbow colors.
Presents
We made some examples of how the logo can be used. We also made some merch with the style. This shows how the logo looks in real life
“...and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started...”

— Thomas Stearns Eliot

Epigraph

After the presentation, the client wanted to make corrections related to the main concept of the symbol. He asked for some changes to the main idea of the logo. He wanted the logo to be based on his personality traits and to show who he is.

Briefing

A new survey was conducted, which was more in-depth and personal. This helped to find out the main characteristics of the fund's founder. A suitable symbol was chosen for each of them. The final image that emerged was a mother bear that guards a baby.

Research

The stage of sketching and detailing the sign with the new requirements began.
A bear's shape is used in the first option. It has a happy child in its paws. The shape has some nice symbols on it: stars, hearts, bubbles and the child's footprints. These symbols can be used later for making an excellent style pattern.
01
The idea behind the second concept is that the bear and the child look like they are under a baby blanket. The child is cuddled by the bear's paw, which is the blanket. The bear's head is the pillow. This image shows both care and protection at the same time.
02
The third solution plays with the metaphor of children as the flowers of life. The petals of the flower in turn act as protective hugs of the bear. There is also a reference to the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes.
03

Matching

Out of the three options presented, the client liked the first option. It was chosen as the main one.
1. Simple and familiar shapes.
2. Easy artistic implementation.
3. The counterform adds uniqueness.
4. For stability, the sign is inscribed in an oval.

Advantages of the Symbol:

Font Choosing

It was harder to find the right font here. But Fontdinerdotcom Huggable fit perfectly into the concept of the sign. And it became an organic part of the final logo.

Color Selection

The color scheme was taken from the previous version and also fit well into the logo, additionally softening the image of the mother’s bear.
Presents
As in the previous case, examples of using the logo in life were also created with the help of merch.

Epilogue

Close interaction and attention to detail helped achieve the desired effect. As a result, the client was more than fully satisfied with the work. And the world became better by one logo.
Whoa, await! You'll find many fascinating works here.
